According to recent reports, the 2020 Mahindra Roxor is all set to be unveiled by the brand in the coming days. Equipped with a host of new features, the updated Roxor features an all-new modern design language.
Mahindra offers the Thar-inspired Roxor off-road vehicle in the North American markets via its US subsidiary named Mahindra Automotive North America (MANA). The overall new look of the updated Roxor is now identical to the 1970s model of the Land Cruiser FJ series.
Coming to the front profile, the 2020 Mahindra Roxor has been equipped with a cylindrical honeycomb grille design which replaces its retro vertical grille with a modern outlook. The headlamp assembly has also been tweaked and now features plastic borders.
Coming to the mechanical bits, the updated Roxor now features a 5:38 axle ratio that further improves its off-road capabilities and allows the rider to climb the hilly areas more smoothly. Apart from the axle ratio, the engine specification of the 2020 Mahindra Roxor has been kept unaltered.
Powering the updated off-road vehicle is the same 2.5-litre diesel engine that is capable to generate a maximum power of 62HP @ 3200 rpm and a peak torque of 195Nm @ 1400-2200 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox or an optional 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
The brand showcased multiple concept designs of the 2020 Mahindra Roxor at 2019 SEMA Motor Show, one of them being a four-wheel-drive Roxor while one of the designs was based on a Coastal Cruiser.
The concepts were especially showcased to let the audience learn about the number of customization options available for the off-road SUV. The customers can further customize their Roxor at the brand’s official website or can get third party customization with a host of aftermarket units. One can expect the brand to launch the 2020 Mahindra Roxor at a price tag of $16,599 (INR 12 lakhs approx).
