2022 Mahindra XUV500 India Launch Details Officially Revealed

2022 Mahindra XUV500 India Launch Details Officially Revealed: The next-gen model of XUV500 has been spotted testing multiple times in recent years and it was supposed to launch back in February last year at the Auto Expo 2020, but it didn’t happen.

The launch then got delayed further because of the Coronavirus pandemic situation and due to the lockdown implemented by the Indian government to keep a check on the rising number of COVID-19 cases.

Putting an end to all of the rumours and speculations, Veejay Nakra, the Mahindra Auto CEO, has recently confirmed in an interview with Powerdrift that the new-gen model of Mahindra XUV500 would be launched in the Indian markets between the Q2 and Q3 of the calendar year 2021. The recent test mule of the car has given us a much closer look now, and the vehicle can be seen featuring a new headlamp design with projector bulbs, LED DRLs, a new front grille, and ADAS radar plus sensors.

The interiors of the 2021 Mahindra XUV500 have also received several changes like twin horizontal mounted screens, one for the infotainment system and the second one is the instrument cluster. Other key features include a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, a dual-zone climate control system, a flat-bottom steering wheel, USB charging ports and a separate selector for the connected car system.

The 2021 XUV500 would be powered by a 2.0-litre mStallion petrol engine which is expected to generate a max output of 190hp power and the other option would a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine which is expected to develop a maximum power figure of 180hp. Both the engines would come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard along with an optional 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
