2023 Mahindra Thar Walkaround Video – Gets Twin Peaks Logo

Mahindra has quietly updated the Thar with a new logo and other minor interior changes. They revealed the new Thar on August 15, 2020, and it became an instant hit after going on sale in October 2022. This new update arrives after Mahindra recently removed some features from the SUV lineup.

The Thar now sports Mahindra’s Twin Peaks logo, which has previously appeared on newer Mahindra SUVs such as the Scorpio N and the XUV700. The new logo can be seen on alloy wheels, steering wheel, and remote key, but the ‘Mahindra’ lettering remains above the grille.

Traction control and hill descent control switches, which were previously near the driver’s side A/C vent, have been moved to the centre console. The door lock/unlock button has also been added to the switch panel in the centre console.

This makes Thar’s lower half of the centre console look similar to that of the Scorpio N and XUV700, which also get a similar setup. Mahindra has also discontinued the paint colours Rocky Beige and Mystic Copper. Mahindra Thar is now available in four colour options: Aqua Marine, Galaxy Grey, Red, and Napoli Black.

The front and rear bumpers are now finished in black rather than the previous metallic grey finish. CEAT Cross-drive AT tyres replaced the previous Czar AT tyres. Besides the exteriors, the interior lacks lumbar adjustment for the front seats. It also loses the fast-charging USB port and now comes with only a standard USB charger.

New Thar is powered by a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that produces 130 hp and 300 Nm and is available with a 6-speed manual transmission and an optional Aisin-sourced 6-speed torque converter. If you prefer petrol engines, then the 2.0-litre mStallion engine that produces 150 hp of power and torque of 300 Nm (MT)/320 Nm (AT) is also available.
