All-New Mahindra Scorpio-N Off-Road Drive Video Review

The recently released Mahindra Scorpio-N has received a lot of attention online. Its appealing design and brilliant equipment list, as well as its impressive technical specifications, are partly to blame. Because of its body-on-frame architecture, the new Scorpio-N is one of India’s most rugged midsize SUVs.

The Mahindra Scorpio-N is built on the brand’s new-generation ladder-frame architecture, which gives the body a high degree of rigidity. As a result, the SUV can handle even the most difficult off-road terrain. M&M is also offering a 4×4 option on the Scorpio-N to improve its off-road capabilities, but only on select diesel trim levels.

M&M invited GaadiWaadi to test the new Scorpio-off-road N’s capabilities, and they drove the SUV over difficult off-road terrain. The SUV has a plethora of off-road features. The new Scorpio-N 4×4 system features a shift-on-the-fly, electrically selectable low-ratio transfer case. It also has the 4XPLOR terrain response system, which has four driving modes: Normal, Snow, Mud, and Sand. When driving through difficult terrain, the front camera will come in handy because it improves visibility. The parking sensors and camera worked together to keep us aware of our surroundings.

They drove the top-of-the-line diesel AT model, which is powered by a 2.2-litre turbocharged inline-4 diesel engine and generates 175 PS/400 Nm paired with a 6-speed torque-converter automatic transmission. The engine is powerful enough to easily climb over obstacles. The new Scorpio-N also has sophisticated suspension, with a Double Wishbone Suspension with coil-over shocks up front and a pentalink suspension with WATTS linkage up back. It also gets the segment’s first Frequency Dependent Damping (FDD) and MTV-CL.

The Big Daddy SUV performed admirably in the GaadiWaadi’s test. The 4WD system worked hard to keep the Scorpio-N from stalling anywhere. The new Mahindra Scorpio-N is an excellent choice for those looking for a practical SUV with all-terrain capability but doesn’t want to wait for the 5-door Thar.
