Mahindra eVerito Gets Price Cut in India: Joining the Tata Tigor EV’s recently reduced prices, Mahindra’s eVerito prices have also been slashed by the brand by INR 80,000. The price cuts have been offered to both the products in response to the 7% reduction in GST on electric vehicles. The new GST norms for electric vehicles came into effect on August 1, 2019.
In addition to this, the government’s FAME II subsidy on the commercial electric vehicles have made the Mahindra eVerito’s base D2 variant get a price tag of INR 10.71 lakhs. The prices for the other variants of Mahindra’s electric sedan that can be bought by the private users now stands at INR 13.70-14.20 lakh (on-road prices, New Delhi).
The FAME II subsidy offered by the government on the commercial electric compact vehicles is not eligible on the privately bought models of the Mahindra eVerito. Apart from the price reduction, all the specifications for the eVerito sedan remain the same.
Powering the eVerito is a 72-Volt lithium-ion battery pack capable of churning out a maximum power of 41.4HP and 91Nm of utmost torque. The company claimed top speed for the eVerito scales at 86 kmph while the brand has guaranteed 80 kmph top speed for the fleet variants. The electric sedan can be charged up to 80% in just 1 hour and 30 minutes via fast charging. The eVerito offers a maximum range of 110km (140km for the D2, D4 and D6 variants).
Commenting on the reduction in GST leading to the price cuts, Mahesh Babu, CEO Mahindra Electric stated “Mahindra will pass on the benefits to customers across our entire product range with immediate effect. This tax cut, along with the strong FAME II policy, will see the adoption rate in EV going up drastically with a boost to India’s last-and-first-mile mobility,”
