New Mahindra Thar 6×6 Imagined by SRK Designs: Mahindra launched the all-new model of Thar Lifestyle SUV in India back on October 2, 2020. The car recently also received its first price hike of up to INR 40,000 and as per the new price list, the base petrol convertible AX (O) manual variant is priced at INR 12.10 lakhs while the top-spec diesel hard-top automatic variant is now available for INR 14.15 lakhs.
Heavily inspired by the Jeep Wrangler, the new-gen Thar is wider and longer in comparison to the last-gen version of the SUV. The 2021 model of Mahindra Thar has been imparted with an upright stance while the overall muscular profile accentuates its rugged appeal.
SRK Designs, one of the popular rendering artists, has recently imagined the new model of Mahindra Thar with 4 wheels at the rear end, which seems to be inspired by the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6.
Other highlights of the rendered image of the Mahindra Thar 6×6 include a 4-door setup, a set of 4 LED fog lights on the roof, an open loading deck at the rear end, a new front grille with five horizontal slats, tow hooks integrated inside the front bumper, off-road spec tyres, all-black alloy wheels, and an eye-catching yellow and black dual-tone exterior colour combination. Overall, the rendered 6×6 version of the New Mahindra Thar looks massive and very unique.
Coming to the stock model of the new Mahindra Thar, it is available with two engine options: a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine and a 2.0-litre turbocharged mStallion petrol engine. The mHawk130 DOHC 16-valve diesel engine is good for a maximum power of 130 BHP with a peak torque of 300 Nm.
On the other hand, the mStallion150 T-GDi DOHC 16-valve petrol engine generates a maximum power of 150 BHP along with an utmost torque of 320 Nm. For the first time ever, the Thar is available to the customers with an option of a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox in addition to getting a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard.
