Mahindra Thar Special Edition in the Works: The current generation Mahindra Thar will be soon available with ABS under the special edition moniker. The top-spec model will also feature various other additions to the exterior, leaving buyers with an option of getting their hands on the last batch of current-gen Thar before the 2020 variant makes the official debut. The deadline of October 1, 2019, for safer cars will force products out of the pipeline that does not comply with the upcoming safety norms. The crash test regulations were awaiting an update from a long time and once finished, products will require additional safety features to pass the given tests.

Mahindra is yet to announce the name of the Thar Special Edition while ABS will be introduced for the first time in the 9-year journey of the popular off-roader. The set of decals will help the fans understand the difference between the standard car and a special edition variant. The top-spec model comes with a CRDe engine, offering more power than the DI models. The interior will also gain some extra features and most of them will be offered under the optional list of features.
