Mahindra TUV300 Plus was spotted at various occasions in last few months. The last spied images of the car reveal an almost similar stance as TUV300, bringing along a big boot area that now serves as additional row of seats for more passengers.
The rear is completely different from the boxy rear end of TUV300, looking odd when compared to the tough guy looks of Mahindra’s compact SUV. Tail lamps are extended to the sides of TUV300 Plus. The recently spied version comes with a different engine moniker than standard TUV300, clearing the use of Delhi specific 1.99L, 4-cylinder diesel engine.
The motor is good for 120 BHP at 4000 rpm and 280 Nm at 1800-2800 rpm. Mahindra could also consider the 2.2L engine for most Indian cities as done with Scorpio. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The seating arrangement in TUV300 Plus will vary with variants, offering up to 9 seats on the most basic version of the car. The report also claims that Mahindra will replace its Xylo with the newcomer.
Mahindra Xylo was given many refreshed YoY updates but it never made into the top selling list. In fact, the numbers are continuously falling from a long time.
Mahindra’s pipeline is full of products that are carrying competitive genes from the very beginning. Considering U321 MPV as a Toyota Innova Crysta rival makes them good for a considerable chunk of the premium MPV sales.
Expected design and body language for U321 clears the fact that is would be a good looking car to own in 2018. They are planning to bring Ssangyong Rexton to India through the Mahindra badge.
That would be a perfect rival to market leaders like Fortuner and Endeavour. They even have a Hyundai Creta sized product for late 2018 in their upcoming product lineup.
