The official unveil event for Mahindra XUV300 compact SUV brought an impressive urban high-rated product to the competitive car segment of India. XUV300 is based on Ssangyong Tivoli, making it the second Mahindra-badged product after the Alturas G4. Mahindra has made neat changes to the overall looks, adding their signature front grille and fog light connecting design element on the front end. The side profile features decent-sized alloy wheels and black C-pillar for sporty additions. The rear is an all different story from the Tivoli as Mahindra is using a different set of tail lights with a unique LED glowing pattern.
The important point to consider here is the length of Mahindra XUV300, staying under the 4-meter limit to enjoy lower taxation than the products like Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster. The underpinnings are based on the Tivoli platform but made by keeping the reduced length in mind. Hence, the rear section must have been designed to get that unique identity for the car. Mahindra XUV300 compact SUV rivals the toughest options like Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport in this segment. The official images confirm certain segment-leading options like a sunroof, diamond-cut alloy wheels and LED projector headlights on the new car.
Mahindra has studied the segment very well as they believe getting a chunk out of the huge 35,000-40,000 number of units sold each month is not that difficult. Some other interesting features for the car includes cruise control, dial-type climate control and touchscreen infotainment display. Mahindra is yet to announce the engine options for the car, most probably shared with the Marazzo MPV as both the cars are front-wheel drive. The price range for XUV300 compact SUV will fall between INR 6.5-10 lakh, with petrol option offering around INR 1 lakh of difference in comparison to the diesel motor.
