The wait is finally over! In one of the latest updates, the much-awaited Mahindra XUV700 has been spotted undisguised for the very first time. The upcoming SUV has been spotted in an all-new golden brown shade at the brand’s production facility located in Chakan, Pune, Maharashtra. Mahindra is going to position the XUV700 as the flagship product in the brand’s product portfolio and it would be competing with the rest of the full-size SUVs available in the Indian markets.
As per the details available, the XUV700 would be available with two seating configurations: 6-seater and 7-seater. Mahindra has already made it clear that XUV700 is not a replacement for the XUV500 and it is going to be a premium world-class product. The brand recently also announced that they will temporarily discontinue the XUV500 and it would be getting major updates after a gap of 1-2 years.
The recent undisguised images of the Mahindra XUV700 has given us a much closer look now, and the vehicle can be seen featuring a new headlamp design with projector bulbs, LED DRLs, a new front grille, new alloy wheels, flushed door handles, all-new huge tail-lights, a blacked-out front grille, and ADAS radar plus sensors. It is also being reported that Mahindra’s new logo would be making an official debut with the launch of the XUV700.
The interiors of Mahindra XUV700 is altogether different from the XUV500 and they have received several changes like twin horizontal mounted screens, one for the infotainment system and the second one is the instrument cluster. Other key features include a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, a dual-zone climate control system, a flat-bottom steering wheel, USB charging ports and a separate selector for the connected car system.
The Mahindra XUV700 would be powered by a 2.0-litre mStallion petrol engine which is expected to generate a max output of 200 HP power and the other option would be a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine which is expected to develop a maximum power figure of 185 HP. Both the engines would come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard along with an optional 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
As far the availability is concerned, it is being rumoured that Mahindra is going to unveil the XUV700 on the occasion of Independence Day on August 15 while the bookings are expected to commence in September and the deliveries are expected to commence around Diwali in November this year. In terms of pricing, the XUV700 is expected to get an ex-showroom price range of around INR 17-24 lakhs. Once launched, the premium SUV would be competing with the likes of Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, Hyundai Tucson, and Jeep Compass.
