Mahindra Thar is one of the most popular SUVs among folks who love to modify cars according to their taste. To quench the thirst of modification lovers, @bimbledesigns has made a digital rendering of the Mahindra Thar. The auto designer has turned the Thar into a 6×6 off-roader taking inspiration from the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6. The designer has posted the rendered images on their official Instagram page and also posted a video of the same on their Youtube channel.
As we look at the rendered images, the designer has equipped the new Mahindra Thar concept with 6×6 suspension, extended trunk area, roof-mounted LED light bar, blacked-out front fascia, LED fog lamps and a roll cage. Also, the key highlight of the 6×6 Dakar-style off-roader is the addition of another pair of wheels to the rear wheel arch house.
The rear passenger cabin has been detached in order to turn the rear section of the SUV into a loading bed. The 6×6 concept Mahindra Thar also includes bed bars and spare wheels in the back cabin, as well as a rear windscreen behind the first row seats.
If we talk about the stock model of the new Mahindra Thar, it is available with two engine options: a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine and a 2.0-litre turbocharged mStallion petrol engine. The mHawk130 DOHC 16-valve diesel engine is good for a maximum power of 130 BHP with a peak torque of 300 Nm.
On the other hand, the mStallion150 T-GDi DOHC 16-valve petrol engine generates a maximum power of 150 BHP along with an utmost torque of 320 Nm. For the first time ever, the Thar is available to the customers with an option of a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox in addition to getting a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard.
