The Mahindra Scorpio, which is expected to be launched in June or July 2022 in the Indian market, has been spotted again and the interiors of the SUV are revealed completely in the spy shots. The SUV has been on sale in the country for two decades and has remained immensely popular. Now, the indigenous manufacturer has given a total revamp to the seven-seater SUV as it is built on a new ladder-frame chassis.
The spy shots that surfaced online disclose all the required details to compare the interior of the previous and upcoming models. As per the test mule, the new-gen Mahindra Scorpio will boast a new dual-tone dashboard layout with a bigger touchscreen infotainment display, new vertically positioned air-conditioning vents, and new dual-tone seat upholstery. The new model will feature forward-facing third-row seating instead of jump seats.
This forthcoming model will get a sophisticated multi-info display right in the centre of the speedometer and tachometer dials. This screen will provide a wealth of information such as door opening, tyre pressure, tyre direction, average speed, trip meter, range, wear seat belt reminder, temperature, and much more. Moreover, the Scorpio will also come fitted with roof-mounted speakers, an engine starts/stop button, a wireless charging facility, and a sunroof.
Besides this, the introduction of a new platform may somewhat enhance the overall proportions of the all-new SUV, and the tall pillars should provide an open feeling. In terms of powertrain, the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will be offered with two engine options: a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine and a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo petrol engine. Both the mills can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Higher-spec variants are also likely to include a four-wheel drivetrain with a low-range transfer case.
