This Is India’s 1st Mahindra Thar SUV With A Rally Cabin

Mahindra Thar is one of the most popular SUVs in the country. The homegrown automaker has already delivered over 50,000 Thars and more than 1,00,000 reservations are pending. People love to modify the SUV, and the easy availability of aftermarket accessories for the vehicle has increased the alteration rate.

Here we have India’s first modified Thar which features a rally cabin. The modification process was done by VIN 4×4 and the images you see here have been sourced from their Instagram page.

As per the workshop, this is the first new model of the Thar SUV with a rally cabin in the country. While looking at the images, we get the idea that the rear seats have been removed and the rally cabin has been added. Aftermarket roll bars have been installed in place of standard ones.

Off-road, LED spotlights are strategically placed to illuminate the surroundings while off-roading. In addition, the shop has replaced the factory headlights with LED units. On the rear bumper, additional brake lights have also been fitted.

Moreover, to offer an enhanced level of off-roading protection, the VIN 4×4 has installed underbody protection. While checking the side profile, there are rock sliders placed on the sides of the SUV and the modification shop has also added an off-road front bumper with tow hooks and fog lights. The front seats are encased within a custom-built cabin, which includes a rear windshield.

This modified Mahindra Thar not only looks great but also boasts a plethora of useful upgrades. No alterations have been noticed under the hood of the SUV.

In India, the Mahindra Thar is available with two engine options: a 2.0L turbo-petrol (150 PS) and a 2.2L turbo-diesel (130 PS), both with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The current-gen Thar comes equipped with a 4×4 drivetrain as standard, and Mahindra has also redesigned the ladder frame chassis to increase ride quality.
