After the government posted the tweet – “#CorporateTax rates slashed to 22% for domestic companies and 15% for new domestic manufacturing companies and other fiscal reliefs”, Maruti Suzuki has officially announced a reduction in prices with respect to some of its models getting INR 5,000 price cut.
The government recently introduced a Taxation Law (Amendment) Ordinance 2019 which was announced by the Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Smt Nirmala Sitharaman in Goa on September 20, 2019.
To this decision of the government the auto industry body, SIAM said that this decision will generate positive results and will help in boosting the local manufacturing sector. India’s biggest carmaker reacted to the government decision by saying: “It will proactively and voluntarily share the benefits of corporate tax reduction with its customers.”
The models that belong to the Maruti Suzuki Arena range such as the Alto 800, Alto K10, Swift Diesel, Celerio, Dzire Diesel, and Vitara Brezza and also the models retailed through the NEXA dealerships like the Baleno Diesel, Ignis, and the S-Cross will be getting a price cut of INR 5,000. A similar reduction in the price will also be there for the Maruti Suzuki Tour S, which is a taxi-only variant.
The Maruti Suzuki’s Chairman, RC Bhargava said in an interview that they expect the sales of the cars to be higher as compared to the previous month and the reduction in cost will prove beneficial especially for the entry-level customers. Soon the brand will be unveiling its all-new S-Presso hatchback on September 30, 2019, and the brand is optimistic to revive its sales during the festive season.
