Suzuki has revealed the all new 2017 Swift internationally, claiming a fresh new design that would enter India around the mid of year 2017. It would be the third generation of the popular Swift moniker in India and would get premium features to enhance the sporty appeal of the India’s favorite mid size hatchback. 2017 Swift carries forward the global design language of cars with hexagonal grill, aggressive headlamps and a sporty front bumper.
The car has evolved very well and the new design makes it look more compatible with the competition. In Japan, Suzuki is also offering the all-new Swift with two add-on accessory packs: Elegant Style and Sporty Style. Elegant Style pack is priced at INR Rs 8,000 (JPY 1,34,946) and the sport style is available for Rs 17,000 (JPY 2,86,578). Maruti might also launch these accessory packs in India when they launch the 2017 Swift hatchback in India by mid-2017.
2017 All-New Maruti Suzuki Swift – All You Need to Know
The shape of the bonnet instantly makes your mind say the word Swift while the same even happens when you look at the front glass section. The game changes in the second half of the car when you suddenly realize that there is no door handle on the door itself. It has been neatly placed around the window’s section, further merging everything with its C-pillar. The car further looks great with its rear spoiler, newly shaped taillights and redesigned rear section.
Maruti Swift will definitely use the tried and tested 1.2 liter petrol as well as the 1.3 liter diesel motor. The former produces 84 PS while the latter is good for 75 PS. Diesel is a more preferred option when sales of Swift are concerned while Suzuki may even use SHVS if local production of the system is possible. There have been talks about the 1.0 liter Boosterjet engine for the Swift but things are still under consideration for the same. The car would be built on the same platform as Maruti Suzuki Baleno, making it lighter by around 100 kg.

This makes the new Swift quicker and more efficient when compared to the current generation India Swift. The inside would be an all new story, carrying a sporty two pod instrument console with Baleno like MID, new steering wheel with color contrast, dual tone dashboard and touchscreen infotainment with Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Swift Sport has always been a consideration when Indian market is concerned but still, there has been no news for the arrival of the hot hatch for India. The new Swift is a perfect balance of style and utility for sure. Expect a slight price hike when Maruti launched the 2017 Swift hatchback in India by mid-2017. The base model (petrol) will be priced somewhere around INR 5 lakhs and the top model (diesel) is expected to be priced around INR 7 lakhs.
