2017 Maruti Swift Dzire Launched @ INR 5.45 Lakhs

2017 Maruti Suzuki Dzire has been officially launched in India, starting with an ex-showroom Delhi price of INR 5,45,000. The product has always been among the highest selling Indian cars as it even claimed above 20,000 units of sale. The 2017 variant gets a major overhaul in design as it now comes with more space on the inside and even better boot space than the earlier version. The dominance of Dzire in this segment may continue for more time as the new design may appeal many into buying the new compact sedan.

It measures 3995 mm in length, 1735 mm in width and 1515 mm in height. This makes it wider than before while outer length has been kept the same as the older version. The changes in design and placement of parts now bring 55 mm more legroom, 40 mm of added width and 378 liter of boot space to the passengers. Dzire diesel has even been tagged as the most fuel efficient car in India with 28.48 kmpl of mileage while the petrol variant claims 22 kmpl on the charts. This makes it even better than Maruti Ciaz with SHVS. Safety has been enhanced on the 2017 model of Maruti Swift Dzire  with standard ABS, dual airbags and ISOFIX child seats. The new frame has helped the car shed around 105 kg of weight from the diesel variant. Added features include flat bottom steering wheel, Maruti Smartplay system, rear AC vents, engine push button and automatic climate control. The car rivals other compact sedans namely Honda Amaze, Volkswagen Ameo, Ford Aspire, Hyundai Xcent and recently launched Tata Tigor. Maruti has retained its tried and tested engine duo on the Dzire. The 1.3 liter, 4-cylinder diesel motor is good for 74 BHP at 4000 rpm and 190 Nm at 2000 rpm. The engine comes mated to 5-speed manual as well as AMT gearbox. The petrol engine produces 82 BHP at 6000 rpm and 113 Nm at 4200 rpm. The diesel variant starts with a price tag of INR 6,45,000. The car is now in its third generation while the introduction of shades like Oxford Blue, Gallant Red and Sherwood Brown makes it look even better than ever.
