The design and engine details for the 2019 Maruti WagonR has been completely revealed before the official launch event on January 23. The car here looks like a staff training vehicle with a lot of scratches to the outer body. The interior has also completely leaked through these set of images, showing dual tone finish for the dashboard. The center section is finished in black, getting a touchscreen infotainment system on the top and connected gear section to the dashboard. The console seen here is also a semi-digital unit with no signs of the tachometer and round MID for all the remaining details.
The steering wheel is also new for the 2019 WagonR range, getting the buttons on the left side and an empty right section. The silver inserts are limited to the wheel and air vents. The seats feature beige finish with dark brown highlights on the new WagonR. In the leaked photos, the floating roof design is disturbed with open windows as the exposed C-pillar section with black highlight looks odd for a car of this size. The headlights and taillights also feel out of proportion for a compact car. The overall width is quite less while the height of the car further make the rear lights feel odd for sure.
The engine section of the car remains similar to the older Wagon R. A report recently claimed that Maruti will offer both 1.0L and 1.2L petrol engine on the new Wagon R. As the K10B engine comes with 3-cylinder layout, the engine seen in these images is also a different one with four visible plug spaces in comparison to three on the regular car. The massive visible components result in puny-looking tires and wheel arches for the new Wagon R. The design of the old model feels more proportionate than the upcoming model. Maruti Suzuki is bringing radical changes to the design lines from last few years.
