2020 Suzuki Hustler Compact SUV India Launch Uncertain

The 2020 Suzuki Hustler compact SUV was officially unveiled in Japan back in December last year. In terms of pricing, the price range for the second-gen Hustler starts from 1,612,600 yen (INR 10.45 lakhs) for the 4x2 variant while goes up to 1,790,800 yen (INR 11.62 lakh) for the top model of the 4x4 variant. Based on the Suzuki HEARTECT platform that offers the underpinnings for the new model of the WagonR, the 2020 Suzuki Hustler features the same retro styling though the brand has equipped it with a host of cosmetic changes. Since the car has been specifically developed according to the Kei car regulations for a light passenger vehicle in Japan, the brand has further offered the compact SUV with more legroom in the cabin with the increase in wheelbase by 35mm. Coming to the exteriors, the 2020 Suzuki Hustler now features an LED plus projector headlight setup housed in a circular casing while the tail light and the rear bumper have also been redesigned. The compact SUV features the same boxy design language though the interiors have been heavily tweaked. The updated SUV is equipped with a redesigned dashboard that further gets an array of premium features and offers a more youthful look to the car. The centre of the dashboard features a large touchscreen infotainment console mated to body-coloured housing. The 2020 Hustler features an updated analogue-digital instrument cluster in addition to getting more comfortable seats. The gear lever of the SUV is mounted on the dashboard while the adjustable seats now offer more comfort in comparison to the last-gen model. Powering the 2020 Suzuki Hustler is a naturally-aspirated 658cc 3-cylinder petrol engine that is available in two options: standard and turbocharged. The standard version of the engine is capable of offering maximum power of 49HP and 58Nm of torque while the turbocharged version is good for 64HP of power and 98Nm of peak torque. The engines are mated to CVT transmission as standard. The brand has equipped the compact SUV with advanced driver assistance systems like the collision avoidance system, traffic sign recognition, camera-guided pedestrian detection system, cruise control and more. The Suzuki Hustler has been developed according to the Kei regulations that make it suitable only for the Japanese markets while one cannot expect it to reach the Indian markets anytime soon.
