Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the petrol version of their most-selling SUV, Vitara Brezza in India. The SUV has been one of the leading products in its segment ever since its launch in 2016. The brand is expected to launch the 2020 Vitara Brezza in the month of November, the upcoming festive season. The newly updated Vitara Brezza will be competing in the market with the likes of Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, and the Mahindra XUV 300.
The position of the compact SUV by Maruti Suzuki has been threatened considering the excellent sales of the XUV300 as well as the Hyundai Venue ever since their launch in the Indian market. The time is right for Maruti to introduce a Vitara Brezza update so as to get a strong foothold ahead of all its competitors.
The 2020 Vitara Brezza is expected to get a facelift in addition to several cosmetic updates. According to the reports, the compact SUV will be featuring curtain airbags in the top-end variant as well as a panoramic sunroof, making it once again rise on the top position in its segment.
Coming to the engine specifications, the 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine used on facelifted Vitara Brezza is good for generating a maximum power figure of 105HP and an utmost torque of 138 Nm. On the other hand, the already existing 1.3-litre DDiS 200 four-cylinder diesel offers a maximum power of 90HP and a peak torque of 200Nm. The engine is mated to an optional 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox.
The brand is expected to discontinue the diesel engine on the compact SUV in order to meet the upcoming BSVI emission norms that will be in effect from April next year. The 2020 Vitara Brezzza with a petrol engine is expected to get a starting price tag of INR 6.50 lakh(ex-showroom).
