2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift Hatchback Spotted Testing in India

2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift Hatchback Spotted: The upcoming 2021 Maruti Swift hatchback has been spotted for the first time on the Indian roads and it looks identical to the facelifted model that was unveiled in the overseas market in the year 2020.

The 2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift hatchback has been spotted in the Solid Fire red colour option with a Black contrast roof, and it was spied by Shivam Thacker in Gujarat. Similar to the updated international-spec version, the India-spec 2021 Maruti Swift is also set to come with a different front grille design in comparison to the model that is on sale currently.

If we talk about the additional changes in the car, there are no such major changes except for the exteriors, which sports a strip of chrome that splits the radiator grille in half, and also the front bumper has been redesigned.

Hence, when the product will be launched in the Indian markets, the popular hatchback will also sport new alloy wheels, while inside, it is expected that the 2021 model will come with an updated infotainment system and some mild tweaks.

In terms of the powertrain, Maruti is expected to upgrade the car with a 1.2-litre K12C petrol engine, which is good for 90HP of maximum power along with 113 Nm of peak torque. The engine will not likely feature a mild-hybrid assistance system but is expected to offer more mileage when compared to the current-gen model of Swift.

In terms of transmission, the 2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift hatchback is expected to come with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed AMT gearbox that is already offered with the current-gen model of the car, and are expected to be retained as it is. The facelifted model is expected to launch next month and is expected to be priced slightly higher than the present-gen model, which is available with a starting ex-showroom price tag of INR 5.19 lakhs.
