The BS6 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz midsize sedan was officially launched in the Indian markets back on January 30, 2021, with a starting price tag of Rs 8.32 lakhs. After getting multiple price hikes, the price range now starts at Rs 8.72 lakhs for the base variant while the prices go all the way up to Rs 11.71 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the top-most variant.
The S variant of one of the most popular sedans under the brand’s portfolio is based on the Ciaz Alpha, the top-spec variant, and the brand has equipped it with a sportier body kit. In addition to getting a black spoiler positioned on the boot, the Ciaz S variant has been fitted with 16-inch alloy wheels while the interiors have been offered an all-black colour scheme. The standard variant of the sedan continues to feature the dual-tone interior setup.
Powering the BS6 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is a 1.5-litre petrol engine that is capable of offering maximum power of 105 HP and the same engine also does duty on the Maruti XL6 as well as the Ertiga MPV. The brand has officially discontinued its 1.3-litre and 1.5-litre diesel engines. These two engines have not been updated according to the BS6 emission norms. The newly updated sedan competes in the market with the likes of Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Toyota Yaris, Skoda Rapid, and Volkswagen Vento.
