The Maruti Suzuki Baleno is about to launch this month, whereas the brand is working on the facelifted WagonR as well. It will most probably be a minor update with cosmetic tweaks and some new functionality. The 2022 Maruti WagonR Facelift has recently been spotted uncovered when it was out for its official TVC shoot. Mantram Shetty, an automotive enthusiast from Bangalore, captured the spy photos.
The 2022 WagonR is essentially the same as the present model. According to the fresh spy pictures, the WagonR may receive additional colour options. The hatchback retains its tallboy style, which has been one of its primary selling points since its introduction in the country. One of the factors that have contributed to the WagonR’s popularity as an entry-level vehicle is its spacious interiors at a reasonable price. With a height of 1,675 mm and a width of 1620 mm, the WagonR boasts enough room.
Speaking of the expected interior updates, new features like an upgraded touchscreen infotainment system, new upholstery, and an engine idle start-stop button might be added to the hatch. With top-spec AMT models, a hill hold assist feature might be available. While the cabin layout and dashboard design are likely to be the same as on the current model.
In terms of drivetrain, the facelift WagonR will remain the same as the existing model. The current Maruti Suzuki WagonR is available with K10B and K12M engine options. The 1.0-litre K10B engine produces 67 hp at 5,500 rpm and 90 Nm at 3,500 rpm when coupled to a manual or AGS. The CNG option is combined with manual transmission only and is capable of churning out 58 hp and 78 Nm. The K12M, on the other hand, is only available in petrol and produces 82 hp at 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm at 4,200 rpm when mated to a manual or AGS transmission.
