BS6 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz has been recently launched by the brand at a price tag of INR 8.31 lakh for the base variant while the prices go all the way up to INR 11.09 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-most variant. The BS6 variant of the sedan is the brand’s 11th model under its portfolio that has been equipped with a BS6 engine before the new emission norms commence in the country from April 1, 2020.
In terms of pricing, the BS6-compliant model of the car gets a premium ranging from INR 11,000 to INR 22,000 when compared to the last-gen BS4 variants. In addition to launching the BS6 model of the Ciaz, the brand has also revealed the updated Maruti Ciaz S variant.
The all-new variant of one of the most popular sedans under the brand’s portfolio is based on the Ciaz Alpha, the top-spec variant, and the brand has equipped it with a sportier body kit.
In addition to getting a black spoiler positioned on the boot, the Ciaz S variant has been fitted with 16-inch alloy wheels while the interiors have been offered an all-black colour scheme. The standard variant of the sedan continues to feature the dual-tone interior setup.
Powering the BS6 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is a 1.5-litre petrol engine that is capable of offering maximum power of 105hp and the same engine also does duty on the Maruti XL6 as well as the Ertiga MPV. The brand has officially discontinued its 1.3-litre and 1.5-litre diesel engines. These two engines will not be updated according to the BS6 emission norms.
Some Maruti Suzuki dealerships are still offering the BS4-compliant diesel model of the Ciaz till the stock lasts. The newly updated sedan will compete in the market with the likes of Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Skoda Rapid, and Volkswagen Vento.
