A recently published news report has revealed the price list for the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. While we cannot vouch for the authenticity of the update, based on the prices, we believe they are likely to be credible and should serve as a good reference until the brand releases official prices. The SUV’s production will begin next month.
With an ex-showroom price range of Rs 9.50 lakhs to Rs 18 lakhs, it easily undercuts rivals like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, and they also hint at how Toyota’s version, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, will be priced. When it is released, the Grand Vitara will be Maruti Suzuki’s flagship model.
The Grand Vitara, which features Nexa’s signature design language, has a distinct exterior design, sophisticated interiors, many segment-leading features, and an industry-redefining fuel efficiency thanks to its hybrid powertrain.
There are two trim levels available: Intelligent Electric Hybrid and Progressive Smart Hybrid. The Intelligent Electric Hybrid trim level comes with a 1.5-litre self-charging strong hybrid powertrain. There are four driving modes: EV, Eco, Power, and Normal, and the fuel efficiency is the best in class at 27.97 km/l.
The 1.5-litre next-generation K-series dual jet, dual VVT engine with brake energy regeneration, torque assist, idle stop-start, and fuel efficiency of 21.11 km/l for MT, 20.58 km/l for AT, and 19.38 km/l for AWD variants are standard in the Progressive Smart Hybrid trim.
Transmission options for the Intelligent Electric Hybrid trim include an e-CVT and a 6-speed automatic with paddle shifters or a 5-speed manual in the Progressive Smart Hybrid trim. The SUV also has Suzuki Allgrip Select’s legendary off-roading prowess, which provides intelligent all-wheel drive capability based on driving conditions. There are four modes to choose from – Auto, Sport, Snow, and Lock.
In terms of key features in the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, the 9.0-inch smart play studio touchscreen entertainment system is borrowed from the newly announced Maruti Suzuki Baleno, a panoramic sunroof (a first in Maruti), and the car also receives Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree camera, a completely digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, ventilated seats, driving modes, and so on.
