Maruti Super Carry launched in India @ Rs 4.01 lakh

Maruti Suzuki India has announced that it will commence sales of the Super Carry by the end of August. Super Carry will be the first ever Light Commercial Vehicle 'LCV' by the company. The sale for the vehicle will first commence from three cities – Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Ludhiana. The LCV will be priced at Rs. 4.03 lakh, 4.11 lakh and 4.01 lakh in Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Ludhiana respectively (all ex-showroom). It will be powered by a 793 cc 2-cylinder diesel engine which has got a peak power of 32 HP at 3500 rpm and maximum torque of 75 NM at 2000 rpm.  The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The company claims that the Super Carry is a high performance vehicle with  strength, better safety features and bigger loading area. It will come with diesel fuel option with two widely preferred colors: Silky Silver and Superior White. Maruti-Suzuki-Super-Carry-2

The company claims that LCV would offer a fuel efficiency of 22.07 kmpl and hit a maximum speed of 80 Kmph. The model comes with front disc brake and Load Sensing Proportioning Valve (LSPV) braking system which can provide better stability during braking. Additional safety features include rear reflectors, headlamp leveller packaged electrical parts and high tensile material limits intrusion inside cabin. The galvanised material has been used in the chassis area which provides better rust resistance. R.S Kalsi, Executive Director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki expressed his views on the launch of LCV by saying, “Super Carry is designed and developed basis detailed research and understanding of customer requirements. It offers best of both the worlds –power and strength as well as carrying capacity. We are confident Super Carry will enhance the profitability of our customers. Super Carry will be initially available for sale in three cities: Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Ludhiana. It will be retailed through a dedicated ‘Commercial’ sales channel.”
