SRK Designs, a very famous virtual automotive design studio has recently unveiled a rendering of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Futuro-e concept that is expected to make its official debut at the Auto Expo 2020. The brand has recently revealed the official teaser image of the concept while more details are expected to be revealed shortly.
Just like the Maruti’s Future-S concept showcased at the Auto Expo 2018 resulted in the production of the S-Presso featuring similar designing traits, one can further expect the Futuro-e concept-based production variant of an electric SUV with notable similarities to be revealed in the coming months.
The recently released video by SRK Designs showcases the Maruti Suzuki WagonR that has been tweaked from the front fascia to make way for the Futuro-e concept. The traditional front grille of the WagonR has been replaced while the Suzuki logo has been imparted a wider stance.
The rectangular headlight setup has also been tweaked and the front profile now features a sharper headlight design adding to the Futuro-e concept’s premium appeal. The front bumper of the concept has been offered blacked-out detailing by SRK Designs while the fog lamps have also been integrated neatly inside the bumper. The sleeker LED DRLs are now attached to an LED strip horizontally running across them.
Maruti Suzuki is expected to base the production model of its upcoming electric SUV on the Futuro-e concept with a 5-seat layout as well as a coupe-like silhouette. The front and rear fenders of the SUV are expected to get a muscular profile while the sporty appeal will be further accentuated by smaller pillars. The sloping windshield design flowing to the rear will impart Futuro-e concept an overall sportier outlook while the cabin will be spacious enough for accommodating the passengers with ease.
Since the brand is focusing on imparting the upcoming product with an unconventional design, different from the mainstream SUVs, one can expect the Futuro-e concept-based SUV to be equipped with unique alloy wheels as well as a funkier tail lamp setup.
The all-new Futuro-e concept from the brand is expected to be unveiled with the much-anticipated Maruti Suzuki WagonR’s electric version. Once launched in India, the SUV based on the new concept will compete in the market with the likes of Tata Nexon EV and the upcoming Mahindra eXUV300.
