Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara SUV Makes Global Debut in India

Maruti Suzuki’s much-awaited SUV Grand Vitara got revealed in the country today. The brand has already announced that the car will be sold through the NEXA dealerships and the bookings are already open with a token amount of Rs. 11,000. In the Indian car market, the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is going to compete with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Hector, Mahindra XUV700, Tata Harrier, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and Jeep Compass.

Speaking of the design and styling of the all-new Grand Vitara, it takes a lot of design inspiration from the newly launched Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, but it still has the capability of expressing its own personality. In the front fascia, the car boasts tri-LED DRLs that further the piano finish grille surrounded by a chrome chevron. A tall bumper, all-LED projector headlamps, and a sporty looking air dam add to its beauty.

Built on the Suzuki TECT platform, the Maruti Suzuki Grand has two powertrain options combined with either a mild-hybrid system or a strong-hybrid option. The 1.5-litre Intelligent Electric Hybrid variant is claimed to be India’s most fuel-efficient car with 27.97 km/l, and this powertrain is capable of generating 91 bhp and 122 Nm of torque. The other one is a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, K-Series mild hybrid powertrain that offers fuel efficiency of 21.11 km/l.

In addition, this engine is designed to belt out 101 bhp and 136.8 Nm of torque. These engines can be had with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission depending on the variants. The top-spec variant of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will also be available with an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.

In terms of key features in the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, the 9.0-inch smart play studio touchscreen entertainment system is borrowed from the newly announced Maruti Suzuki Baleno, a panoramic sunroof (a first in Maruti), and the car also receives Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree camera, a completely digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, ventilated seats, driving modes, and so on.
