Maruti Suzuki Swift Special Edition is now officially available in India from INR 4.99 lakh. The price sounds familiar as the enhanced variant carries the same tag as existing LXi and LDi variants. Those looking for Swift Special Edition with a diesel engine will need to spend INR 5.99 lakh. The prices are marked introductory on the official banner. The car comes with additional equipment at no extra cost, adding value for money factor into the already popular product.
Buyers will get rear parking sensors, single DIN music system with Bluetooth support, two front speakers, remote key-less entry and black painted wheel caps as an addition to the respective base variant. The car comes with standard safety shield, including important features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX child seat provision. In addition to the added features, the Swift Special Edition also comes with body colored door handles and rear view mirror covers.
In comparison to the VXi/VDi trim, the model still loses on rear speakers, double-DIN player, steering mounted controls, rear power windows, day and night rear view mirror, indicators on ORVM and few other options. Still, those who are looking for the most value for their money should opt for the Special Edition to save INR 90,500 that goes into buying the VXi/VDi trim. Also, most of the features missed can also be had through the genuine accessory fitment.
Maruti Suzuki Swift is powered by a 1.2L, four-cylinder petrol engine, producing 83HP for the LXi and 1.3L, four-cylinder diesel engine, producing 75HP for the LDi trim. The engine and power output remain similar across all variants. Buyers can choose from 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox, both returning equal claimed mileage. Swift rivals Hyundai Grand i10 and Ford Figo in India.
