New Maruti-Toyota SUV Is Coming to India By Diwali 2022

As we all know, Toyota and Maruti’s collaboration is working on a slew of new cars for the Indian market. According to the latest media reports, the trial production of the midsize SUV has already started at Toyota’s Bidadi plant number 2 in Karnataka. Furthermore, as suggested by the report, the upcoming SUV is most likely to be unveiled in June or July this year, with the launch expectation being around Diwali 2022.

The all-new SUV will be built on the modified and localised version of Toyota’s TNGA-B (or DNGA) platform. It is also being said that the SUV will be manufactured using suppliers from both Toyota and Maruti. While some critical systems will be provided by Toyota regulars, the majority of the suppliers will be from Maruti Suzuki’s collection of component makers.

The new Maruti-Toyota SUV will most likely be available with two petrol engines and a hybrid drive unit. While the first model will include mild hybrid technology, the second will feature a more powerful hybrid system with more power and greater fuel economy. To ensure an affordable price, the majority of the hybrid system’s components would be made in India.

Both SUVs will also be outfitted with the most up-to-date technology. Maruti Suzuki has demonstrated a readiness to compete with Hyundai, Kia, and MG with the new Baleno and the incoming new Brezza. Both vehicles will use the connected technology featured on the new Baleno, which was developed mostly by Toyota. Both SUVs will also have huge stand-up screens, and the pair is expected to bring features that, like the Baleno, will be at the top of their class.

The Maruti and Toyota JV SUVs will have distinct styling, appearances, and feelings. The new cars will borrow stylistic ideas from larger Toyota products such as the RAV4 and the Corolla Cross. The Maruti version will look similar to the Suzuki A-Cross (rebadged RAV4) sold in Europe. The Toyota D22 SUV will have a bigger air dam with a honeycomb mesh design, as well as split headlights with dual LED DRLs.
