Just after the launch of the 2022 model of the Ertiga MPV, Maruti Suzuki recently debuted the XL6 facelift in the Indian market. The brand has offered the MPV in three variants called Zeta, Alpha, and Alpha+, and the starting price tag is Rs. 11.29 lakh (ex-showroom). The new model boasts a bunch of exterior as well as feature updates. It’s worth mentioning here that the XL6 was first introduced in the country as a premium version of the Ertiga MPV.
As far as the updates are concerned, starting with the front fascia, the XL6 now gets a redesigned front grille with plenty of chrome accents. Not only on the front, but the manufacturer has also used chrome on the side and rear profile to a great extent. The MPV rides on 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, which give it a more enticing look. The available paint scheme includes shades like Celestial Blue, Brave Khaki, Arctic White, Grandeur Grey, Opulent Red, and Splendid Silver.
On the inside, the XL6 gets all-new features like a 360-degree view camera, Suzuki Connect system, front ventilated seats, and a 6-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. Besides this, the 7-inch infotainment screen is also updated. In terms of passenger safety, the car comes equipped with dual front and dual front side airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, a high-speed alert system, and driver and co-driver seat belt reminders that are standard across the range.
Under the hood, the 2022 model of the MPV gets a new Atkinson K15C dual-jet petrol engine that churns out a maximum power of 103 bhp and 136.8 Nm of maximum torque. This engine comes mated with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The facelift XL6 locks horns with Kia Carens, but it also indirectly competes with Mahinda XUV700, Renault Triber, Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, and Mahindra Bolero. However, the price bracket is different in these cars.
