Next-Gen Maruti Gypsy to be Based on New Suzuki Jimny

According to Japan’s flagship publication Nikkei, India is all set to welcome the next-gen Maruti Gypsy, which will be based on the Suzuki Jimny SUV. The reports suggest that the fourth-gen Suzuki Jimny will indeed be made available to the Indian market though, in the form of the new Gypsy. When launched in India, the new model of the Maruti Suzuki Gypsy will directly compete with the likes of the 2020 Mahindra Thar and the next-gen Force Gurkha.

The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission while the optional 4-speed automatic gearbox is also available.
