Levante SUV Launched in India: Maserati Levante has been officially launched in India for INR 1.45 Crore (ex-showroom). The Italian company’s first ever sports-utility vehicle comes with a stylishly sculpted bonnet, a large front grille and slim aggressive headlights.
The car is similar in proportions to Porsche Cayenne with an aesthetic and sporty body kit. On the back side, Levante has a stylish bumper, a roof spoiler, sleek windshield and quad exhaust setup.
The internal designing of the car is somewhat similar to Ghibli sedan. Maserati brings premium leather interior with fine wood inserts, contrast stitching and Harman Kardon sound system. Buyers also get 8.4 inch, high resolution touchscreen infotainment system with dual controls on the center panel also. Lightweight material use has made the Levante good for ideal 50:50 weight distribution.
Engine specifications stay class leading as 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine available here is good for 271 bhp and 600 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 8-speed automatic gearbox and comes with all-wheel drive as standard. The unit is shared among sedan variants also but for them, four wheel drive is not available as standard.
According to Maserati, the engine is capable of bringing 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.9 seconds. The top speed for Levante is 230 kmph. Active Exhaust option changes the note of exhaust as per user selected driving mode. More than 90% of torque is available from as low as 2000 rpm on Maserati Levante.
Bojan Jankulovski, Head of Operations, Maserati India, said, “The introduction of 2018 Levante is our commitment to satisfy the significantly increasing demand for premium SUVs in India. The design, exclusivity and performance are the key characteristics when describing this new Maserati; and will turn out to be a distinguishing factor for the Trident in the luxury SUV space.”
