2018 Mercedes CLS was recently revealed at Los Angeles Motor Show. The car is undoubtedly fresh to its core and brings a different design ideology than almost every car available in the international lineup. They have even confirmed a performance spec, range topping Mercedes AMG CLS 53 for 2018.
This will be a first of its kind, ‘53’ badged model, further passed on to E53 Coupe and E53 Cabriolet in the coming months. Mercedes will use an all new 3.0L, straight-six petrol motor producing 456 HP on the CLS 53. The engine will come with an integrated starter motor for performance boost.
The demand for Mercedes SUVs have stolen a chunk of sales from this popular saloon. For 2018, it will be offered in CLS 350, CLS 450, CLS 300d, CLS 350d, CLS 400d and CLS 53 AMG trim. The new cars shares it platform and power-train with E-Class and thus, luxury stays top notch on every interior bit.
Sporty front fascia looks exciting as not everyone wants ‘almost the same face’ when buying a full length Mercedes saloon. Four door makes is highly practical while not even a single flaw could be found within every curve of the new car.
2018 Mercedes CLS comes with 2988 mm of extensive wheelbase, offering impressive legroom and a neat space for 3 passengers at the back. Mercedes will bring a four cylinder motor at a later stage while every engine will use Mercedes 9-speed automatic gearbox as standard.
The above listed models are equipped with 4matic system. Owners can go for an optional package that adds eight more safety options other than the standard lane keeping assist, speed limit assist and three others. Boot space stays 520 liters while driver can now fold the rear seat in 40/20/40 proportion for more practical space use.
