The Mercedes AMG GT 4-Door Coupe has been officially launched in India at the Auto Expo 2020 with a starting price tag of INR 2.42 crore (ex-showroom, pan-India). The AMG GT 4-Door Coupe has much in common with the AMG GT sports car. It shares a lot of design traits from the same as well. The front and rear design have loads of similarities with the two-door model of the GT series. The AMG slatted Panamericana front grille gives the AMG GT 4-Door coupe an aggressive look.
Mechanically, the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe comes equipped with a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine which produces 639HP of maximum power along with 900Nm of peak torque. The engine of the car comes mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox that delivers power to all 4-wheels via Mercedes’ 4Matic all-wheel-drive system. The car can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in a claimed 3.2 seconds.
Going by the interiors, the GT 63 S 4-Door Coupe gets all the premium offerings available on the latest-generation of Mercedes AMG models. It is equipped with twin 12.3-inch displays for instrumentation and infotainment with the latest MBUX system, a touchpad on the centre console, and a new steering wheel.
The central tunnel also sports a similar design to that of the two-door GT sports car. It runs the length of the cabin towards the back, making the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe a strict four-seater car. This model of the Mercedes AMG GT series is also the fastest series-production sedan around the iconic Nurburgring racetrack. It will compete in the Indian market with the likes of the Porsche Panamera Turbo.
