Mercedes has launched its AMG SLC 43 in India at a price of Rs 77.50 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The SLC 43 is the facelifted version of the SLK roadster and has been rebadged under the company’s new nomenclature. Also, it is the first ‘43’ badged model which has been introduced in the company’s portfolio for India.
The Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 would get its power from the 3.0 litre, 6 cylinder, twin turbo engine, which will be able to pump 362 Bhp at 5,500-6,000 rpm against a peak torque of 520 Nm at 2,000- 4,200 rpm. The SLC 43 AMG can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 4.7 seconds before attaining a top speed of 250 kmph. The transmission is efficiently handled by the 9G-TRONIC automatic gearbox. The SLC has got a all new front fascia, new bumper, revised headlamps which now have LED daytime running lamps. The side profile resembles with SLK to a great extent while the rear has got a new exhaust, reprofiled tail-lamps with LED detailing and new bumper.
The interiors have also undergone some noticeable features like larger COMAND system display, a new instrument cluster, key-less go, new steering and revised trim inserts. Also, the roof mechanism has now gone fully automatic and doesn’t need the manual operation of the luggage cover. The SLC 43 has got AMG steering and instrument cluster, AMG sports seats, aggressive body kit and tweaks to the suspension and chassis which will improve its performance. The SLC will compete against the likes of the BMW Z4 roadster, Porsche 718 Boxster and the Jaguar F-Type.
