Mercedes Benz E-Class All-Terrain is now officially available in India for INR 75 lakh. The variant is based on the E-Class Estate variant and adds additional equipment as well as improved dynamics for more fun. The car rides on 19-inch alloy wheels and uses air suspension to bring 35mm of increased ride height, whenever required. The car measures 4947 mm in length, 1861 mm in width and 1497 mm in height. The wheelbase measures 2939 mm, making it quite smaller in comparison to the extended version available as standard with the sedan version. It offers up to 1820-liters of luggage carrying capacity.
Comparing in detail, the model carries 158mm shorter wheelbase than the LWB model, offering a total length difference of 116mm. Mercedes has added minimalistic plastic cladding to add some muscle to this package. Mercedes offers a standard wheelbase trim named AMG E 63 for the car, making these two the only models to support a compact footprint. The E-Class comes with one petrol and two diesel engine options in the standard body form. On the other hand, E-Class All Terrain is powered by a 2.0L, four-cylinder diesel engine, producing 194 HP and 400 Nm of torque. The pricing is quite high for this particular engine as 3.0L LWB model costs INR 72.85 lakh.
E-Class All Terrain comes with five drive modes, three-zone climate control, electrically operated tailgate, panoramic sunroof, and Command infotainment system with two parallel screens. The engine comes mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox, claiming a 0-100 kph sprint time of just 8 seconds. The top speed for E-Class All Terrain is 231 kph. Mercedes offers the widest possible range of products in the luxury car segment, getting most of the models that are available internationally either through CBU or the CKD route. The range starts from A-class hatchback.
