Mercedes-Benz has officially launched the E220d LWB in India for INR 57.14 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The smaller diesel engine will sit right next to the E200 LWB while the difference in the price of E350d will help it gain considerable market share. The long wheelbase versions of this sedan are exclusive to Indian and Chinese market only.
E-Class E220d LWB is also based on the same 10th generation design and frame. The difference of just INR 1 lakh between the entry level petrol engine and E220d will simply propel this model to success in the coming days.

The best part for the car is its all-new, 2.0 liter four cylinder diesel engine. It replaced the 2.1 liter unit internationally last year and brings nothing less than 194 HP as well as 400 Nm of torque to the buyer.
The engine comes mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox and took much time to enter India due to its Euro-6 compliant nature. The same was re-engineered to run on India’s BS4 compliant diesel. The only difference that you will notice is the design of alloy wheels while everything else remains the same as E350d LWB.
The car misses on features like air suspension, Burmester sound system and 360 degree camera as all of these are available on the petrol model. The package in INR 57.14 lakh includes LED headlamps, panoramic sunroof, seven airbags, stability control and three zone automatic temperature control.
The car claims a top speed of 240 kph while 0-100 kmhp takes just 7.8 seconds on the same. The 64 color ambient lighting can be adjusted according to mood of the passengers while Attention Assist and Parking Pilot can help a driver keep things under control all the time.
