Mercedes-Benz GLS 600 Maybach Officially Revealed

Mercedez-Benz has finally added a new model to its already existing Maybach lineup by the name GLS 600 Maybach. It has been officially revealed to the world and its every bit is ostentatiously costly and full of luxury. The all-new model unveiled by the Stuttgart-based carmaker will be brought to the market in competition with the likes of Bentley Bentayga, Rolls-Royce Cullinan, and the Maserati Levante.

The Mercedes-Benz GLS 600 Maybach is an ultra-luxury SUV and it is being offered in two models: 4-seater and 5-seater. The car is powered by a 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine with a 48V integrated starter motor and it is capable to generate a combined maximum power of 558HP and churns out a peak torque of 730Nm. The engine operates in combination with an advanced 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission. The top speed is limited to 250kmph while it can sprint from 0-100kmpph in just 4.9 seconds.

It can be expected that by the second half of 2020, the Mercedes-Benz GLS 600 Maybach will be unveiled for the global market. When enquired about the new product, the head of the Product Management at Mercedez Benz, Martin Hülder told the media, “SUV vehicles have a major advantage for the luxury segment: the high seating position. In combination with the running boards, this makes access and egress easy and convenient.”

Talking about the interiors of the GLS 600, it consists of Nappa leather upholstery and unique trim elements. The long list of options for the customers include reclining rear seats with a massage function, a fixed centre console combined with folding tables and a refrigerator positioned in a four-seat layout that can be enhanced with the help of panoramic sunroof. The boot capacity of the luxury SUV stands at 520 litres.

The Mercedes-Benz GLS 600 Maybach is expected to be first introduced in the market of China, North America and Europe whereas it can also be brought to the Indian market in the near future.
