Mercedes-Benz has recently launched the C-Class 2.0L petrol sedan in India. The model has officially replaced the 1.5L petrol-electric mild-hybrid variant in the Indian market. The 1.5-litre petrol engine was co-developed by Daimler and the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance which has been dropped now.
The outgoing 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine was capable of producing 181HP of maximum power at 5800-6100 rpm along with 280Nm of peak torque at 3000-4000 rpm. It was paired to a 48V hybrid system. In comparison, the new 2.0-litre petrol engine is capable of producing 203HP of maximum power at 5800-6100 rpm. The peak torque generated by the vehicle is still unknown. Talking about the performance, the sedan can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 7.7 seconds and has a claimed top speed of 239 kmph.
