A new benchmark in non military armored vehicles, Mercedes Maybach S600 Guard has been launched in India for INR 10.50 Crore (ex-showroom Delhi). The car comes with VR10 ballistic protection, keeping the extent of luxury same as the non armored Maybach S600 version. The car uses the same 6.0-litre, Bi-Turbo, V12 engine producing 523 bhp and 829.8 nm whereas it has been further tuned to pull the additional weight with the same ease. It takes 5 seconds to complete a 0-100 kmph sprint and the top speed is limited to 250 kmph.
The VR10 rating is good for the protection of occupants from hardened steel core bullets and blasts from explosives, whether far away or even under the body of the car. The outer layer of the body covers special integrated steel for enhanced protection whereas the glass windows are replaced with polycarbonate coating on the inside. Under-body armor protects the occupants from explosion and the fuel tank automatically seals itself in case of an emergency. The same feature is seen in military grade Apache helicopters.
The car features loads of luxury as the seats are fitted with massage function, personal infotainment systems and a lot more for enhanced comfort. Rear seat of this S-Class is the quietest rear section from Mercedes and fiber optic ambient lighting makes it more appealing than anything else offered in the segment.
