2021 MG Hector SUV Starts Reaching Dealerships (Live Photos): As the demand grows for the MG Hector SUV, the company recently announced that Hector and Hector Plus have received a combined booking number of 5,000 units in the month of December 2020.
Very few cars in India get a facelift option and that too within 18 months or so. As MG Hector rivals a lot of popular SUVs in this price segment, so it is a wise step by the brand to keep its product up to date by offering more features and a mild facelift.
Ahead of the launch, the 2021 MG Hector has been spied undisguised at a dealership. The latest set of spy photos have revealed the car’s interior as well as the exterior in detail. A majority of updates on the updated model includes a revised front grille and much needed 18-inch alloy wheels in an all-new design in a dual-tone finish. The equipment levels on the insides of the car remain more or less the same as before.
The 2021 MG Hector has received a dual-tone interior treatment in a beige and black finish, while the updated features of the interior include an updated version of the 10.4-inch infotainment unit and some minor additions like auto-dimming internal rear-view mirror (IRVM).
The reports have suggested that the upgrade might also include adding a new variant to the MG Hector line, in the form of Savvy trim. This trim will not only be equipped with a 4×4 drive system but it is also expected to get ADAS autonomous level-1 features, which are on offer with the recently launched MG Gloster SUV.
The MG Hector Plus will now also be offering 7-seater option instead of the 6-seater one, as the brand has gained immense popularity in India and the company felt the need to launch a 7-seater model to boost the overall sales.
The Hector Plus 7-seater will get a middle row with bench seats, instead of the captain seats on offer with the current-gen 6-seater model. The pricing of the 2021 MG Hector is expected to get a slight price hike. For your reference, the current-gen model is available with a starting price tag of INR 12.84 lakhs (ex-showroom).
Mechanically, no changes are expected, and the SUV is expected to continue with the existing three engine options: a 143HP 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, a 143HP 1.5-litre turbo-petrol hybrid and a 170HP 2.0-litre diesel engine. Here are the live photos of the 2021 MG Hector SUV:
