In terms of updates, the 2021 Hector and Hector Plus now feature a revised front grille and all-new 18-inch alloy wheels in a dual-tone finish. The equipment levels on the insides of the car remain more or less the same as before except for the ventilated front seats, an auto-dimming inside rearview mirror, and a wireless smartphone charger.
The 2021 model of the Hector has received a dual-tone interior treatment in a beige and black finish. In addition to that, the SUV is now also available in a new Starry Blue colour option. MG has also updated the Voice Assistant of the car, which can now recognise up to 31 commands in Hinglish, and some of them completely in Hindi as well, like ‘Radio Chalao’ to turn on the radio and ‘Khul Ja Sim Sim’ to open the panoramic sunroof.
Coming to the MG Hector Plus, the 2021 model of the SUV is now also available with a seven-seat option. The 7-seater variants get a middle row with bench seats, instead of the captain seats on offer with the 6-seater model.
Mechanically, there are no changes, and both the SUVs continue with the existing three engine options: a 143HP-250Nm 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, a 143HP-250Nm 1.5-litre turbo-petrol hybrid and a 170HP-350Nm 2.0-litre diesel engine. A 6-speed manual gearbox is standard across all engine options with the non-hybrid turbo-petrol models are also available with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission option.
