2023 MG Hector SUV Launched in India – Here is the Full Price List

MG Motor has unveiled the facelift Hector and Hector Plus SUVs.  Both SUVs receive a reworked front and rear fascia, and a completely redesigned interior. MG Hector and Hector Plus facelift keeps the mechanical setup from their predecessors.

The Hector and Hector Plus’s front fascias have been completely redesigned. With a new diamond-like pattern and an angular chrome surround, the grille has grown in size. It complements the high-mounted LED Daytime Running Lights. The main headlamp cluster on the bumper has a new pentagonal shape as well.

The SUVs now have a new tail-lamp assembly with a redesigned red strip connecting the lamps at either end. The profiles of both SUVs are completely unchanged although the previous models’ 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels remain unchanged.

The interior has been updated with a larger 14.0-inch touchscreen integrated into the dashboard. The largest ever installed on an Indian mass-market vehicle. The infotainment screen appears to flow down into the centre console. The inclusion of ADAS features on both the Hector and Hector Plus is the most notable feature. The iSmart infotainment software and the 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster have also been updated by MG.

The 1.5-litre petrol engine is shared by the Hector and Hector Plus SUVs. It comes with either a 6-speed manual or an automatic CVT transmission. This unit produces 143 hp and has a peak torque of 250Nm. The diesel engine is the same 170hp, 350Nm, 2.0-litre unit that powers the Harrier, Safari, and Compass. For this engine, MG continues to offer only a single six-speed manual transmission.

The new MG Hector has a starting price of Rs 14.73 lakh, while the three-row MG Hector Plus facelift has a starting price of Rs 20.80 lakh (ex-showroom). The Tata Harrier and Mahindra XUV700 continue to compete with the MG Hector. SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Toyota Hyryder are also indirect rivals. Meanwhile, the Tata Safari and Hyundai Alcazar compete with the Hector Plus.
