The car which held the internet by its spy pictures, the MG Hector SUV has been finally revealed in India. The car looked great when was revealed in its spy pictures and now, as it has been officially revealed, it does not fail to impress. The Hector will be available in 13 variants giving ample amount of choice to the SUV lovers in India. The petrol option is available in 9 variants while the diesel version can only be had in 4 variants.
Mechanically, the engine options for MG Hector includes a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine which produces 143 HP of power with 250 Nm of peak torque, and a 2.0-litre, FCA-sourced diesel engine generating 170 HP of maximum power with 350 Nm of torque. Both the engines would come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, while the turbo-petrol also gets the option of a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Also on offer, there will be a 48V mild-hybrid petrol variant which is said to be 12 per cent more fuel efficient than the petrol-only variant.
The launch of the car will take place in India in June 2019, and it is expected to get a price range of INR 15-20 lakh (ex-showroom). The car is available in 5 colours: Candy White, Aurora Silver, Starry Black, Burgundy Red, and Glaze Red. The SUV will compete with the likes of the Tata Harrier, Hyundai Tucson, and the Jeep Compass.
