The updated Porsche Macan SUV has been officially launched in India with a starting price tag of INR 69.98 lakh for its base model that is powered by a 4-cylinder petrol engine. The top-end Macan S with a V6 engine comes with an ex-showroom price tag of INR 85.03 lakh. Porsche has tried to keep the prices in check to make the Macan available to a wider buyer base.
Mechanically, the base model of the Porsche Macan SUV comes in a pack with a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo petrol engine that develops 252HP of maximum power with 370Nm of peak torque. The Macan S variant is powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 petrol engine, which churns out 354HP of maximum power with 480Nm of peak torque.
The performance of the car can be imagined by looking at its remarkable performance figures as the V6 model can sprint from 0-100 kph in just 5.3 seconds, which is 1.4 seconds quicker than the four-cylinder Macan. The Macan S has a company-claimed top speed of 254 kph.
Coming to the exterior changes, the Macan facelift comes with an LED light bar that connects the taillights. At the front, the car has got new LED headlights with the signature Porsche four-point daytime running lights along with a redesigned bumper. The big interior addition that the car gets is in the form of Porsche Communication Management System which comes featured in the 10.9-inch, full HD touchscreen infotainment system. The buyers will also have an option for the GT sports steering wheel that will get a Sport response button.
The brand has officially announced that they won’t be making diesel cars anymore. Porsche has revealed that there will also be an all-electric version of the new, second-generation Macan that will make world debut in 2021. Earlier this year, the carmaker also launched the new-generation 911 in the Indian market.
