Captur for India is based on a different platform and hence, shares most of its internal components with Duster. The same was launched in few countries with the name “Kaptur’ while India is the first market to have the same with right hand steering. It looks fantastic from every angle and thus, style statement of its own is seen within the new Captur. The boot space capacity is 392 liters while 210 mm of impressive ground clearance is achieved in unladen form. It carries a wheelbase of 2673 mm. Renault has high levels of localization for Captur as the chassis used here is more or less the same as Renault Duster. Renault Captur has an identical wheelbase but clearance seems far better on the new Captur. It is powered by 1.5L H4K (1498cc) petrol and 1.5L K9K (1461cc) diesel engine, producing 106 PS and 142 Nm for the former and 110 PS and 260 Nm for its diesel engine respectively. This makes the Captur more powerful when compared to Renault Duster. Renault Captur Launched in India Sparkle full LED lights, smart access card, 17 inch diamond cut alloy wheels, leather seats, ambient lighting, cruise control, hill start assist and four airbags makes it good for a range topping price of INR 13.88 lakh (ex-showroom). Renault Captur drives buyers away from the boxy design of Duster, presenting smarter headlights, more prominent grille and clean design lines all over its body. The dual tone shades look much more attractive and even carry natural looking wheel arches in place of the ‘on steroids’ looks of Duster. Renault Captur Launched in India Rivals in this segment are Hyundai Creta and Jeep Compass, both carrying class leading features and practical design language. Interior of Renault Captur seems derived from Duster and hence, lacks the premium feel that one gets within one look into Creta and Compass interior.
