Renault Triber MPV to Launch in India by July 2019

Renault Triber is the official name for the upcoming compact seven-seat product from the brand in India. Based on the familiar CMF-A platform that underpins the Kwid, Triber is expected with a similar massive front fascia and design lines made to impress every possible compact car buyer. The price range will stay around INR 5-8 lakh, with the base variant losing most of the features that the car will be known for in the coming months. The launch month for the new Renault Triber is July 2019. The teased image and Renault’s new strategy clear that the car will not be anything like the Datsun Go+ when compared to the Go hatchback.

Renault explored new possibilities from the structure and redesigned everything from scratch. Renault Triber is expected to feature a huge front grille, LED daytime running lights within the headlight, raised bonnet and lots of chrome to bring the premium feel out of their new product. The basic safety features like two airbags and ABS will stay standard on the car while the addition of curtain airbags and other safety features will take the cost higher than its current expected price.

Only Ford offers 6-airbags at a much affordable point and that too in their recently launched Figo hatchback. The report regarding 7 HP of power increase on the 1.0L, 3-cylinder petrol engine also seems true as the car will need extra power to pull all the weight associated with the extended frame. The third-row seats will be offered with an air vent system that will work in accordance with the second-row vents. The engine is expected to feature a 5-speed gearbox in the first phase. Renault is also planning to add a turbocharged engine to the Triber. However, the launch price will decide the space for such experiments by Renault India.
