Rolls-Royce brings Black Badge Ghost, Wraith to Geneva

The Rolls-Royce captured the complete attention of everyone present at 2016 Geneva Motor Show when they uncovered the sinister Black Badge Editions of the Ghost Saloon and Wraith Coupe.

The darker version of the Rolls’ feature a glossy jet-black Spirit of Ecstasy figurehead on the bonnet, premium black detailing on the chrome surfaces, and a new black badge. The intense black appearance of the car is a result of multiple layers of paint meticulously coated to ensure utmost quality. Rolls’ CEO describes the murdered-out theme seen on the both the cars, as: “ The alter ego of Rolls-Royce; darker, more assertive more confident and powerful, and more demanding”.

Stepping inside, the Ghost features purple interiors, while the Wraith greets us with remarkable blue finishing. Roll’s says they’ve used “ aerospace-grade aluminium-threaded carbon-fibre composite” on the dash, and around the cabin.

The powerplants of both the cars have also received prominent upgrades, with the Ghost’s bi-turbo 6.6-liter V12 tuned to produce an extra 40 horsepower and 60Nm of torque totaling to 603 Hp and 840 NM. The reworked gearbox now stays on the lower gear a little longer to achieve a higher rpm. The Wraith’ also gets a beefed up engine now delivering an extra torque of 70 NM, totaling to 869 NM, but producing the same 623 horses of power.

The coupe however gets an improved air suspension, revised drive shafts, and same reworked gearbox as the Ghost. Both the cars also get lightweight carbon-fiber alloy wheels contributing to the dominating look. The prices haven’t been unveiled yet, but they’re definitely going to burn a hole in the pocket of anyone planning to buy one of these mean machines.
