One of the customer found that these unlimited options were unable to satisfy the demands and went forward to ask for a one-off model that could be built accordingly. Named the Rolls Royce Sweptail, this one-off example was unveiled at Concorso d’Eleganza and comes with a reported price tag of $12.8 million (INR 84 Crore approx).
The client that owns the Sweptail is a collector of one-off luxury products like private jets and super yachts. The idea of making this rare Rolls Royce came up in 2013 while it took around 4 years to get that into a production version.
The need of pushing the two-seat 1920’s Rolls Royce DNA into the car. Sweptail comes with inspiration from 1925 Phantom 1, 1934 Gurney Nutting Phantom two door and 1934 Phantom 2 Streamline Saloon. The panoramic sunroof on the car is highly inspired from luxury yachts.
Rolls Royce front fascia is definitely present on the Sweptail as the solid aluminum grill with mirror finish is the largest ever used on a Rolls Royce. The coupe has its unique registration number ’08’ while its interior was kept simple and elegant as per the client’s wish.
The rear seats make way for a wooden shelf while the first ever handmade clock from titanium and Macassar veneer. The car is an example that if you have a lot of money and a good taste for designing, a unique piece of art can be created anytime.
