Czech automaker Skoda recently debuted its much-awaited Slavia sedan in the Indian car market. The new Skoda Slavia 1.0 TSI is now available at a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 10.69 lakh in the Indian car market. This Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz rival will be available with two powertrain options in the country, but the brand has revealed the pricing for the 1000cc TSI petrol variant only. Pricing details for the 1.5L will be unveiled on March 3rd.
The all-new Skoda Slavia comes in three variants called Active, Ambition, and Style. Based on the Volkswagen group’s confined MQB-A0-IN platform just like the Kushaq, it is distinctly bigger than the Rapid. In terms of body dimensions, it has a 4541mm overall length, 1752mm width, 1507mm height, and a 2651mm wheelbase, and hence, it is the largest car in the segment. Speaking of its design and styling, it comes with a sleeker, more sophisticated design with a great extent of chrome to attract the attention of Indian car buyers.
On the inside, the dual-tone black and beige theme cabin of the 2022 Skoda Slavia is also designed to offer a premium look with a layered dashboard, a free-standing 10-inch infotainment touchscreen and a fully-digital instrument console. Other key features comprise connected car technology, automatic climate control, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, leatherette upholstery, ventilated front seats, a sunroof, a wireless charger and safety features including six airbags, ESC, tyre pressure monitoring, an electronic differential system (EDS) and more.
Although the car is offered with two turbo-petrol engine options, the brand has only revealed the lower capacity engine price details. This is a 1.0-L TSI, three-cylinder, petrol engine that is capable of churning out 115 HP and 175 Nm when coupled to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The 1.0 TSI manual powertrain offers an ARAI mileage of 19.47km/l, while the automatic version is claimed to offer 18.07km/l.
